Your Forecast Can Be Different
Jesus said, “Whenever you see a cloud rising out of the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming’; and so it is. And when you see the south wind blow, you say, ‘There will be hot weather’; and there is. Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time?” (Luke 12:54-56). Storms are brewing all over the world. With technology aiding us in detecting storm patterns, it remains challenging to predict storms, rendering many devastating storms unpredictable. Too often, they still catch us off guard. Some leave paths of destruction, leaving the survivors with the burden of picking up the pieces of what remains.
People pick up what remains and rebuild or move with resources. However, the plight is difficult when resources are limited. The survivors are forced to make the best of what remains and live with or without resources.
There is a storm that brews within every soul. God, through Jesus, gives us the power to regulate what is flooding our minds, the tornados that leave our lives a mess, and the hurricanes that are attempting to take everything dealing with us away. It is not God’s will that you have a pity party every day because your internal storms continue to cause havoc.
You have no power and control over what storms form eternally, whether people or the weather; however, God gives you some influence/power over what goes on within. As a child of God, he gives you his Spirit to live within you to aid you. His Spirit continues to say through Scripture, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble” (Matthew 6:33-34).
Have you considered busying yourself in what you need to do and in kingdom work? As you seek to do the will of God. He has promised those things stressing you out will vanish into nothingness. Your focus will no longer be on yourself and what is or who is plaguing you, it will be on the good of others. You will see those storm clouds disappear. It may be ugly and cruel out there, but your life is different. Your forecast can be different. May God bless your life.
