Lonely Christians Are Never Alone
Feel like the ONLY ONE serving the Lord at times? Elijah thought the same thing. And, what was the Lord’s response to Elijah, and to us? You’re WRONG!!!
“Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I AM LEFT ALONE, and they seek my life. But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself SEVEN THOUSAND men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. Even so then at this PRESENT TIME also there is a remnant according to the election of grace” (Rom. 11:3-5; cf. 1 Kg. 18:22; 19:10,14; 19:18; 1 Pet. 5:8-9).
As committed Christians, we will never have to worry about being alone ever again. The Lord gave this reassuring promise to His faithful disciples as He sent them out to make even more disciples, “…I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” (Matt. 28:20). The Hebrew writer gave these stimulating words concerning the Lord’s promise, “…for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Heb. 13:5b; cf. Ps. 37:25; Deut. 31:5-6; Josh. 1:5; 1 Chr. 28:20). After the apostle Paul gave a sad account of being forsaken at times even by some brethren (2 Tim. 4:10,16), but nevertheless, was able to impart encouragement with this invigorating affirmation, “Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me…” (2 Tim. 4:17).
The Lord does not forsake His own! “For the Lord loveth judgment, and
forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off” (Ps. 37:28). Our God is before us, beside us, behind us, and is ever present with us, as we continue in His holy will.
May God bless us as we do his will!
