Words That Give Life and Words that Torment the Soul
It is the will of God that we remain a positive force in the lives of individuals. Being positive means always striving to be an addition, not subtracting or dividing, but adding positivity and spiritual nourishment to everyone who needs it. Just as the world needs Jesus, the Son of God, to give them eternal life, they need you, God’s representative, to reinforce what they believe about God. Consequently, I know Satan is real by the actions of those whom he has influenced. Praise God: I know God is real by those who are walking by faith and are giving life to others by how they speak and live.
Those familiar with the suffering of the patriarch Job recall his friends, through their accusations tormented his soul. Job 19:1-3 “Then Job answered and said: “How long will you torment my soul, and break me in pieces with words? These ten times you have reproached me; You are not ashamed that you have wronged me.” Job said his friends crushed, tormented, and had broken his spirit into many pieces. Job said you had wronged me with your words. The last thing we want to do is tear someone down with our words. On the contrary, we want to use our words to comfort and help our brethren through the painful moments of life. We need to add comfort and not pain.
“For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned” (Matthew 12:34-37).
Say something godly and uplifting to lift someone up today.
