God, The Ever-Present Eternal Charger of Souls
The Psalmist said in Psalm 27:13-14 “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living. Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!” When God strengthens your heart, you get the renewed strength that you can do what God has charged only you to do. Matthew 16:24 “Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” Jesus’ cross was difficult, yet it blessed the world. By faith, we believe our trials will also bless us and somebody else as they remember us triumphing in life.
God strengthening your heart (Psalm 27:13-14), is a reminder that your confidence in God was strong. Something put you in a situation where your heart needed to be strengthened.
The same message is for all of us in this text: wait on the Lord and be courageous. To wait is to hope for, wait for, look for, and to look forward with confidence. To wait with good cheer or courage is to hope in the Lord and wait eagerly for salvation or deliverance.
Therefore, I am looking for God to show up; by faith, I know He has already arrived. My prayers have been answered; by faith, I have already been helped, and my problems have already been solved. I need to wait on the Lord and be courageous as it comes to pass.
Like Moses encouraged the Hebrews to believe the Egyptians, their captives, they would see them no more. “Exodus 14:13-14 “And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” May God put those things that need to become a distant memory behind you.
May God bless you to continue showing courage to every challenge you face by not losing your confidence in the Creator. Never lose hope because all things are possible with God (Matt. 19:23-26; Luke 1:37; Phil. 4:13; Mark 9:23).
