Waking Up on the Right Side of the Bed.

It is the will of God that we end each day the way we start by praying and seeking the Lord (Psalm 5:3; Psalm 143:8; Isaiah 26:9). We begin our mornings by talking to God, who holds our past, present, and future in his hands (Isaiah 46:10).  Nothing is going to be accomplished without God. Without Him, our plans are only thoughts and drawn-out ideas. It is God who allows our dreams to come true. Let us end our day the way we started it.

Let it be seen that you woke up on the right side of the bed. Jesus said, “Let your light shine so that men may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). To the Christian, waking up on the right side means we wake up with our minds on Jesus. We plan to please God in word and deed. Our day is successful as we execute all those things that God has placed in our hands to do. God is not an afterthought in my morning, day, evening, or night. It is a blessing to start well and live a day where goodness follows you. Even when you have a terrible encounter, you are determined not to allow that event to define your day. When someone asks you what happened to you today, can God’s goodness overshadow what that random person did? Yes, it can!

We will not please God if our minds are not on Him in the morning.  It can lead to a series of decisions and behaviors that will be evident to everyone. Somebody will notice you woke up on the wrong side of the bed.  This person who wakes up on the wrong side of the bed wakes up without walking in the spirit. A life lived where I am constantly waking up on the wrong side of the bed will lead to me waking up on the wrong side of eternal life (Luke 16:23).

 It matters how you wake up. This goes beyond being well-rested. It centers on waking up with purpose, acknowledging God, and living out His purpose.  Good morning to you. May God continue to bless your life.
